Named after Florida’s official marine animal, Manatee County ranks 15th in population among Florida counties. Comprised of a total area of 893 square miles, Manatee County is home to 12 preserves, 33 parks, and miles of beautiful beaches such as Coquina Beach and Anna Maria Bayfront Park.
A large upcoming project in Manatee County is the widening and construction of the Interstate 75 interchange just north of the Ellenton Premium Outlets and the Florida International Trade Port. The project also includes the construction of new bridges over the Manatee River and will take four years to complete and cost $145 million. Due to the project size, there are likely many other commercial permits that will come of the Manatee County and Ellenton area, due to the increase in building and construction.
Manatee County’s Building & Development Services Department has made some changes at the start of the new year. One of these changes includes the digital plan room claimed to simplify permitting with a “seamless” plug-in for the Department’s Online Services Portal. In addition to the updated 7th Edition Building Code and Manatee County’s revised Development Review Fee Schedule, these changes to their online portal can further confuse the permitting process without experienced help.
Suncoast Permits has worked in the Manatee County portal for many years and has also been highly engaged in the launch of the Digital Plan Room. If you’re looking for a building permitting expeditor partner, turn to the experts at Suncoast Permits. We’re here to help!
